In many cases no — rear and side boundaries often allow fences up to 2m (or 1m if adjacent to a road). Front boundaries may have lower limits. We'll advise based on your situation; you're responsible for checking with the council if unsure.
Panel fencing uses pre-made panels (usually 1.8m wide) between posts — quick to install, traditional look. Slatted is horizontal boards fixed to rails — more modern, often more expensive, and we build it to measure.
With pressure-treated timber and concrete-set posts, 15–25 years. Post failure is the main cause of fence collapse — we always set posts properly. Staining or painting can extend life and improve appearance.
Yes — we can replace individual panels or repair leaning posts. We'll quote for the repair; if the rest of the run is weak we'll advise on full replacement.
Yes — we supply and fit gates to match your fence. Single or double, timber or composite. We'll quote for the gate and hanging as part of the job.
